On October 26th we shall also have a visiting team from the Province of Central Africa coming to help us discern the possibility of our future in the Diocese of Northern Malawi as they assess the viability of establishing the Diocese of Likoma.
- Join us in our prayers that we should only do it within the will of God.
- Please pray for unity in the clergy and people of the diocese.
Myanmar from Archbishop Steven:
In August Myanmar was hit with a natural disaster as an historic flood began that has effected some of our anglican dioceses - Myitkyina, Homalin, Yangon, Pyi and Hpa-an. Diocesan buildings, churches, homes and paddy fields have been affected. The Church of the Province of Myanmar is working to be the hands and feet of Jesus to their neighbors in face of this natural disasters.
- Almighty God, we entrust all who are dear to us, especially our brothers and sisters in Myanmar who suffer from natural disasters or political turmoil, to your never-failing care and love, for this life and the life to come, knowing that you are doing for them better things than we can desire or pray for; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. BCP 2019

FOR THE PERSECUTED CHURCH
Church in Pakistan:
At the recent New Wineskins ONE BODY Persecuted Church Conference that was hosted in our diocese, speaker Mike Brickly shared that there are over 3 million people in Pakistan trapped as indentured servants in brick making factories. Children are born into this bondage and spend their days in the field turning over bricks to help facilitate the drying process. Through ministries like Families Set Free, this generational slavery is being addresses and families are being rescued and given new lives of freedom. Click Here For More
- With thanksgiving for the work being done to rescue families in bondage, pray for this on going work of rescue and rehabilitation
- Pray for continued engagement from the Church in bringing justice, protection and provision for thousands forced into slavery.

DISASTER RESPONSE
Anglican Relief and Development Fund (ARDF):
ARDF’s Domestic Disaster Response Network is hard at work responding to the needs of many in areas recently impacted by Hurricanes Helene and Milton. They are coordinating relief efforts through churches in the affected areas. They are organizing trip opportunities for individuals and church teams to serve survivors of these hurricanes. - Almighty God, by your Word you laid the foundations of the earth, set the bounds of the sea, and still the wind and waves. Surround the survivors of Hurricane Helene and Milton with your grace and peace, and preserve them. By your Spirit, lift up those who have fallen, strengthen those who work to rescue or rebuild, and fill us with the hope of your new creation; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. BCP 2019

OFFERING THANKSGIVING
- We join Bishop Fanuel and the DNM with thanksgiving for the wonderful Confirmation service last Sunday for the two parishes on Chizumulu Island. From St. Mary’s Same Parish, 133 members were confirmed and 55 members from St. John’s Chiteko Parish were confirmed. May each of these new confirmands continue to grow in their knowledge and love of the Lord.
- We praise God for the 6th - 9th grade New Beginnings Retreat at St Vincent’s October 18th-20th. There were over 20 participants at this spiritual retreat which focuses on helping youth grow and build their relationships with God, their family, and their friends!
