Epiphany Global Prayer Initiative

This message is for the churches and prayer teams of the Diocese of Fort Worth. JOINING OUR HEARTS PRAYING FOR GOD’S WORLD Please join the World Mission Committee in praying for our global partners and the persecuted church. “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.” Luke 2:10-11   Dear Intercessors, During this season of Epiphany we want to share some of the “good news of great joy” that is happening around the world as the Church responds to the chaos of natural disasters, conflict, persecution and the unreached. As intercessors we are so encouraged as we read about how the Light and Love of Christ shines in the darkness.   May you have a Holy Advent and a Blessed Christmastide. Blessings, World Mission Committee Hope for Malawi through the Airwaves   Anglican Diocese of Northern Malawi from Bishop Fanuel The Hosanna Radio Station has created a radio listener community through “radio church”. As we are now able to broadcast God’s Word live, the radio station is becoming a good tool for evangelization beyond the confine of denomination and to the unchurched. Many are now responding to the Light of Christ by forming radio communities that support each other in sickness and meet together to share fellowship.  "You come looking for us. Others chase us away" Hope For 300 Street Children in the Congo   Hearts For the Congo (HFTC) Except for rare interludes, conflict has been raging near Bunia, Democratic Republic of Congo for generations. Recently villages and farmlands have been destroyed, thousands have fled their homes and farms to the relative safety of Bunia to live in Internally Displaced People (IDP) camps. Many children ranging from age 5-15 are living on the streets. Through support from HFTC the Anglican Peace Center led by Rev. Bisoke Balikenga is ministering to these children with food, love and the Jesus Film! In a recent distribution of bread, the children were so happy and thankful. “You come looking for us. Others chase us away!” Light shining in the darkness! Click Here for More Hope Amidst the Rubble   Anglican Relief and Development (ARDF) In February a horrific earthquake hit Turkey and Syria. ARDF was able to partner with the local church to step in to provide aid and shine the brilliant Light of Christ despite a very dark circumstance and a difficult region of the world. As local believers transported aid from Turkey into rural regions of Syria, people asked, “Why is it only Christians helping us in the rubble?” The church’s presence amidst chaos provides hope and healing. Click Here for More   Hope for One Million Syrian Refugees   Love for the Least (L4L) from Jerry and Stacy Kramer Refugees from ISIS and the Syrian civil war find their greatest needs are jobs and food. L4L is building green houses in the camps for refugees to grow their own crops. They also are providing hens and roosters for eggs, and sheep and goats. Soon there will be milk cows! These recovery strategies are a great platform for the Light of Christ to spread. In one refugee camp alone, there are now more than 180 churches and discipleship groups.   SHARE WITH US    Often when we pray for God's world, we are blessed with a particular scripture or word.
