Persecuted Church Conference
September 27th - 28th
The World Mission Committee is excited to announce that our diocese will be hosting a national conference on Christian persecution sponsored by the Anglican Persecuted Church Network of New Wineskins. There will be worship, prayer, networking, and speakers from persecuted nations telling their stories! Come and be equipped to serve our persecuted brothers and sisters.
From Bishop Reed:
“Something like one in seven Christians live under the threat of active persecution; nearly 300 million men, women, and children. It is essential that the rest of the Church find ways to connect to, pray for, and partner with the persecuted Church. Please consider attending the Anglican Persecuted Church Network Conference. I have no doubt all of our eyes will be opened.”
The WMC hopes that each church will send a team to participate in this weekend of worship and prayer as we become equipped to support our suffering brothers and sisters in Christ!

GLOBAL PARTNERS
Malawi from Bishop Fanuel:
There continues to be a growing interest to create a new diocese of Likoma. The provincial assessment team is still to make their feasibility report.
- Please continue to pray for us as we conclude this matter. If it is the will of God, it shall come to pass but if not it will fail to come to its fulfillment.
We rejoice that the Ungweru Construction Company now has a cement mixer and block making machine.
- Continue to join us in prayer for suitable tenants befitting the office building. We pray that we should have a government department taking it all.
- Pray for the other construction projects now under way in the diocese. We praise God for the new jobs opportunities created by Ungweru.
Myanmar from Archbishop Steven:
You all know that on February 1, 2021 the military seized control of the government and began a crackdown on the civilian population of Myanmar. This military junta continues still today and has resulted in thousands of deaths and tens of thousands being injured, imprisoned, and disappeared. In addition to this ongoing tragedy on August 4th Myanmar was hit with a natural disaster as an historic flood began that has effect four of our sister dioceses. You will find pictures attached along with the details of both the disaster and the relief efforts of the Hpa An Diocese. This is just one example of how the Church of the Province of Myanmar is working to be the hands and feet of Jesus to their neighbors in face of civil and natural disasters. Click Here For More
- Please prayerfully consider joining the relief effort to come to the aid of our brothers and sisters. Your gift will go directly to the support of those more than 2 million people displaced by war and flooding. These funds will provide food, shelter, medial relief and be a tangible reminder that the ACNA stands with the global church.
- Please share this need with all your intercessors and let’s join in prayer for God’s mercy and deliverance for Myanmar.

FOR THE PERSECUTED CHURCH
Church in Nigeria:
According to Global Christian Relief, Nigeria has become known as the world’s center of Christian martyrs. In any given year, the numbers of Christians killed by extremist groups is rarely less than 4000 – often more than in the rest of the world combined. Click Here for More
Join us at the One Body: Hope for the Persecuted Conference to hear from Douglas Burton, an award winning conflict reporter specializing in Nigeria. Hear first-hand what is happening and how we can pray and advocate for the Christians in Nigeria.
- Pray especially for the protection of young girls who are being kidnapped and forced to convert to Islam and to marry Muslims.
- Pray for continued protection and wisdom for Bishop Benjamin Kwashi and his family as they minister to orphans who lost their parents to Muslim terrorism.
Church in Sudan:
The paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) has said it is ready to participate after the United States invited the warring sides in Sudan to mediated ceasefire talks.
The brutal war between the RSF and the military government has raged in Sudan since April 2023. Tens of thousands have been killed, and almost 10 million displaced, according to the United Nations, amid reports of numerous war crimes by both sides and a humanitarian crisis.

Hear more of the situation in Sudan from Bishop Andudu Adam Elnail, Bishop-in-Exile to the Kadugli Diocese of Sudan in the Nuba Mountains, at the One Body: Hope for the Persecuted Conference.
- Please pray for these peace talks in August that both sides will attend and that they reach an agreement for nationwide cessation of violence, enabling humanitarian access to all those in need, and develop a robust monitoring and verification mechanism to ensure implementation of any agreement.
- Pray for provision and comfort for the many displaced. Pray for protection especially for the women and children as they seek refuge.
- Pray for the Church as it seeks to meet the needs of the people.
