This message is for the churches and prayer teams of the Diocese of Fort Worth. JOINING OUR HEARTS PRAYING FOR GOD’S WORLD Please join the World Mission Committee in praying for our global partners and the persecuted church. It is good that we have come together these many months to intercede for our diocese, our partners and the world.  As the pandemic worsens, here and abroad, we will join our hearts together and beg for mercy and healing for our world. The Lord who hears the prayers of the faithful will surely answer them.   O Lord our God, accept the fervent prayers of your people; in the multitude of your mercies, look with compassion upon us and all who turn to you for help; for you are gracious, O lover of souls, and to you we give glory, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, now and for ever. Amen (BCP 675)     Blessings, World Mission Committee GLOBAL PARTNERS   Malawi from Bishop Fanuel: Keep us in your prayers - the third wave of Covid-19 is more threatening than the previous variants. The spread is very much out of control, as it has now hit so hard in the villages.  We are experiencing death of our beloved ones each day.  Pray for us that we should continue to manage the spread.   Only about 500,000 of us have managed to get the first and second dose of AstraZeneca and it’s now out of stock. Some only got their first dose but have not been able to get their second one due to the fact that it’s not available. We don’t know what that will mean to them for missing it out within the specified time for the second shot.   We offer Thanksgiving for the 302,400 doses of the single dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine that has been donated by USAID and arrived last week. The population of Malawi is 19 million so pray for more vaccines to be sent. Pray for Bishop Fanuel and his diocese as they celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the Diocese at their synods beginning next week on the mainland, August 18th - 22nd.  Pray for the 25th Anniversary Celebration on the mainland to be held on August 22 and the 25th Anniversary Celebration on Likoma scheduled for August 29. May God continue to pour His blessing upon the Diocese of Northern Malawi and strengthen our partnership in the Gospel. La Gran Familia (LGF) from Barbara Hautanen: Please pray for the youth of La Gran Familia that are going back to school that they have good study habits and stay safe and healthy. Pray for the young women who will enter their first year at the University in Cuauhtemoc.  They will begin their Pedagogy studies at the end of August.   Pray that God will renew the strength of the staff of La Gran Familia so that they may continue their loving care for all the boys and girls that God has given them. Emergency Message from Archbishop Stephen Than of Myanmar:   Please pray for Myanmar. The current third wave of COVID-19 is devastating for the people here. Many have died in July, including over 100 Christian priests and pastors, and the crisis is worsening. Many are suffering in severe medical condition, needing help. The Church in the Province of Myanmar (CMP), together with other agencies and humanitarian organizations, are racing against time to get oxygen cylinders, oxygen concentrators, and medication. The next two weeks are critical. Please also pray that Anglicans here can establish a good system for longer-term aid to help us through a very difficult and painful time for our country. Thank you, and the Lord be with you! Haiti from Bishop Reed: THE 7.2 MAGNITUDE EARTHQUAKE in Haiti on Saturday has added to the suffering and social distress in that nation. Pray for the needs of the people that the Lord will sustain them in their suffering. Food for the Poor has worked in Haiti for decades and is likely the best organization to provide food and other aid quickly to the people there. Click Here For More FOR THE PERSECUTED     Church in Nigeria: We praise God that another girl that was kidnapped in 2014 from the Chibok Girls School has been found. Of the 270 girls kidnapped, 113 still remain missing. Pray for healing and restoration for this girl. Pray for the remainder of the Chibok girls and the many more who live as captives of Boko Haram that they may have grace to endure and be released.  Click Here for More  Church in Afghanistan: Pray for the Christians in Afghanistan where the Taliban are systematically going village to village in rural areas demanding allegiance to Islam and their violent rule. Those who do not comply are brutalized, beaten, killed and worse. Some Christians have boldly proclaimed the truth of the Gospel in the face of this and were murdered in broad daylight to send fear throughout the entire village. Pray for an end of this violence. OFFERING THANKSGIVING  We offer thanksgiving for technology which makes it possible to hear about the needs of the world. May we draw closer to God as He draws us into intercession for His world.
