Blessed Advent and Holy Christmastide
What a privilege it is to Join our Hearts in prayer, expectation and adoration with the Church around the world during this season of Advent and Christmastide.
Many Christians will gather in places of worship filled with lights and music while others will be hidden away in secret; nevertheless, all will bow down to honor our King who has come to be amongst us. May the Light that came into the world as a babe in a manger shine in the hearts of all mankind.

GLOBAL PARTNERS
Malawi from Bishop Fanuel:
The country is facing financial difficulties and is struggling to manage its affairs. Inflation has surged to a staggering 38%, the highest it has ever. Currently, there is a shortage of fuel at our filling stations, and people are spending hours waiting to refuel.
- Pray for a bailout or significant economic recovery supported by our development partners.
As a nation dependent on subsistence farming. Currently, there are signs that this may not be a favorable rain season. The southern region has not experienced adequate rainfall, which is concerning since planting was expected to occur by this month.
- Join us in praying for a good rainfall and that God will bless us with a fruitful season.
In August we will hold the National General Election in our country. So far, there have been misunderstandings during the registration process. Some parties fear that the use of electronic devices for registration will lead to rigging by the ruling party. I believe this fear stems from a resistance to embrace modern technology.
- Join us in prayer for peaceful preparations for this upcoming election.
Myanmar:
The Church in Myanmar continues to struggle during this time of great civil unrest; nevertheless, they are bringing the Light of Christ into the dark places. We lift up Bishop David and the Diocese of Mandalay during this Advent season and Christmastide. May they be sustained and strengthened. May they know of our prayers as they continue to bring the Love of Christ into their communities.
- Almighty God, we entrust all who are dear to us, especially our brothers and sisters in Myanmar to your never-failing care and love, for this life and the life to come, knowing that you are doing for them better things than we can desire or pray for; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. BCP 2019

FOR THE PERSECUTED CHURCH
Open Doors US Requests Urgent Prayers for Syria:
Open Doors US calls on the global community to uphold the people of Syria—especially the Christian minority—in prayer, and to advocate for peace and stability in the region. “Syrian Christians are asking us to pray for peace, for wisdom, and for the new leadership of the country to be committed to reconciliation for all Syrians. They are also asking us to pray that they will be lights of hope and peace in the midst of this chaotic time in Syria’s history.” Click Here For More
- Urgently pray for peace in Syria, that the cycle of violence would cease, that there would be no spirit of vengeance against anyone, and that God’s justice and mercy would prevail in this land that has been troubled for more than a decade.
- Pray for the leaders of all factions to be moved towards reconciliation and for the protection of innocent civilians.

OFFERING THANKSGIVING
From Bishop Fanuel in Malawi:
- As we enter the Christian New Year at Advent, our hearts are filled with thanksgiving, and we open our hearts in gratitude for the new year ahead.
- We continue to give thanks to God for the financial support we receive from the Diocese of Fort Worth. This support enables us to carry out our mission effectively. We could not achieve anything positive without the assistance we have been blessed with this year and in previous years.
- We pray that God will continue to bless all those who contribute to our initiatives in participating in His mission. Looking back at the beginning of the year, we can see God’s hand at work in various activities, including the missions of our guilds, parishes, schools, and healthcare efforts. We have abundant reasons to thank God for everything we have accomplished this year.
