I
INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER
FOR THE PERSECUTED CHURCH - NOVEMBER 7
and throughout the month of November
Please pray with us, as we join Christians around the world in global prayer for our persecuted brothers and sisters who boldly witness for Christ at any cost. These courageous believers continue to forgive their persecutors and to hold fast to their faith in Christ.
- Pray that their ministry activities will remain undetected by the authorities or others who wish to silence them (Acts 9:25).
- Pray that they will feel God's comfort when their family members are killed, injured or imprisoned for their witness (2 Cor. 1:3-5).

GLOBAL PARTNERS
Malawi from Bishop Fanuel:
- We mourn the loss of Fr. Kennedy Chilowa. He went missing in Lake Malawi during a boating accident last week. Pray for Bishop Fanuel and the DNM as they deal with this great tragedy - praying specifically for Fr. Kennedy’s wife, Veronica and his family. May Fr. Kennedy and all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
- Please continue to pray for the Radio Station Project as they are now broadcasting evenings only from 9-12pm Malawi time until their studio is finished. Please pray for the final installation of equipment and for the $10,000 funds needed for the radio station to be completed by December. Click here to tune in during their evenings.
- Continue to pray for the diocese’s ability to manage the spread of Covid in the villages and to encourage vaccinations. The clergy are trying their best to give rightful information by telling the truth, speaking out of love and finding ways of caring those affected and infected.
La Gran Familia (LGF) from Barbara Hautanen:
- Please pray for the boys and girls that live at La Gran Familia who are struggling at school. May they get the help that they need so that they are able to learn more and improve.
- Pray for the hearts and the minds of caregivers at LGF to be filled with the Holy Spirit. May they be filled with peace and kept in good health.
- Continue to pray for an end of the violence in the families of Cuauhtemoc. Teach us all, O Lord, to forgive others as you forgive us.
Myanmar from Archbishop Stephen Than:
- Pray for the Providence of Myanmar where the country continues on the verge of civil war and has significant food shortages. There is great concern about hunger and starvation. We offer praises that Covid cases are presently down a bit. Pray that in the midst of all this suffering doors may be opened for the Gospel. Click here for more

FOR THE PERSECUTED
Church in Nigeria:
- In Kaduna State in northern Nigeria, killings and abductions took place in September, as they do every month. Pray for church leaders to have wisdom and strength to know how to minister to those who mourn and who live in fear.
- The Open Doors World Watch List reports that this year Nigeria moved from #12 to #9. More Christians are killed for their faith in Jesus in Nigeria than in any other country. Boko Haram and Fulani radicals kill Christians and destroy their villages with impunity. Since the Nigerian government will not hold the murderers accountable, the global community must pressure Nigeria. Click here for more
Church in Afghanistan:
- Pray that Afghan Christians be concealed from the Taliban and that there would be confusion over the Taliban's communication regarding Christian individuals and groups.
- A new wave of refugees has begun to come from Afghanistan to us here in America. Pray for God’s protection and provision over them in their journeys. Pray for the Church's response to their need. Pray for trauma healing especially for the children.

OFFERING THANKSGIVING
- We praise God that the World Health Organization (WHO) is now recommending widespread use of a new malaria vaccine among children in sub-Saharan Africa and in other regions. The recommendation is based on results from an ongoing pilot program in Ghana, Kenya and Malawi that has reached more than 800 000 children since 2019. Click here for more.
- We offer thanksgiving for answered prayers for the slowing of the spread of Covid in Myanmar.
- We offer thanksgiving for our churches' love response to the Afghani Refugees who are being resettled in our area.
